Aerial Adventure Park Decking and Handrails, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast
New composite decking and aluminium handrails on two high ropes courses used by school camps on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
School groups climb, balance and queue at both aerial adventure parks on composite fibre micromesh decking, holding aluminium handrails. Every surface a participant stands on or holds was stripped of its European larch and refitted: platforms, landings, stair treads, starting and hexagonal platforms, and the staircases at both sites. Each park reopened to groups as soon as its work was finished.
On a ropes course, a handrail fixed into an existing post is part of the safety system. Before any handrail was ordered, we built a prototype of the typical connection in place on a real post and had it inspected and approved by the engineer. The rest of the job was programmed around that sign off. Crews took the new decking up and fixed it at height, and it stays slip resistant with no sanding or oiling.
