Lake Weyba Boardwalk Transitions
Timber steps and capped member ends where the Lake Weyba walking track meets its three composite crossings.
The last few metres at each end decide whether a crossing in a reserve looks complete. On a natural track surface, the steps and end caps are what walkers notice first. At Lake Weyba, walkers step from the track onto each of the three composite crossings on set timber steps.
Four steps were bedded in black mortar to tie the track surface into the structures. Every exposed composite member end was capped, so each section is finished at both ends. The approaches and end caps were built in 2024 by the same crew who built the crossings.
