Chiller Compound and Plant Access Works, Logan
Civil works so Johnson Controls could install replacement chiller plant at a Westfield centre and lift new plant into Logan Diggers Club.
New chiller plant has to get in, and it needs something sound to sit on. For Johnson Controls we did the civil work on two sites. At a Westfield centre we demolished the old block chiller compound and its roof, poured new plinths doweled into the existing slab, and built a sheeted screening wall painted to match.
Because the shopping centre traded as normal, all concrete cutting and jackhammering happened between 7 am and 9 am, before the shops opened, and our plant stayed on site to support the mechanical installers. At Logan Diggers Club we took the roof sheets and frame off the plant room to give the crane a clear lift, then put them back with the flue flashed and weathertight.
