On the Monday after the weekend of 16 and 17 March 2024, the Port Office car park was back in normal use, the footpath matched the red exposed aggregate beside it, and the electrician had a conduit route and pit ready to pull cable through. Over those two days we ran electrical and communications conduit from the switch room in the undercover car park, under the footpath and paving, to a new EV charger plinth.

Only the two bays in front of the charger could be closed, and there was one weekend to get the finish right. Services were located by vacuum truck before any machine dug. The conduit has long radius bends and bellmouth pit entries so cable hauls through without damaging the sheath, and it comes up through the plinth from beneath, putting the charger over its own service entry.
