Rainbow Beach Boardwalk

The Rainbow Beach subdivision was approved on the condition that it delivered a pedestrian link across the vegetated part of the site. A path on grade would have removed the plants the approval was written to protect, so the link became a raised boardwalk. We supplied every composite fibre member and stainless steel fixing and built it to the certified design, and residents cross that ground on a charcoal mini mesh deck.

The design allows for salt air, wind driven sand and a shallow water table, and the site work decides how well the structure lasts in them. The structure was built with small plant working along its own alignment, with no access track through the vegetation.
