Wellington Point Boardwalk

A boardwalk and new abutment on the Fernbourne Road frontage at Wellington Point, built inside four weeks.

4 weeksJob duration
1.8 m³Abutment pour

Four weeks and one traffic setup covered the whole job at Fernbourne Road. We installed the boardwalk for Wagners CFT from the composite fibre foundations up to the deck, on a public road frontage with traffic and pedestrians managed from the first day. Wellington Point is a bayside suburb on Moreton Bay, so the structure lives in salt air on ground that stays wet for part of the year.

Designing and building the abutment within the same job is what kept it that short. The end bay came off to let the excavator in, the new footings went in, and dowels were chemically anchored into the existing structure so the new abutment acts with it. After a 1.8 m³ pour, the end bay went back on.
